ERIC CHEQUES OUT
BIG
thanks go to Eric Bristow who last month visited Oddfellows to accept a cheque for £1,852 on behalf of the Stroke Association following April’s fundraiser.

Eric had a practice on the Oddies board and posed for photos and signed autographs for those in the pub that had come to meet him.

BINGOING MAD!
THE
balls dropped by the national lottery on Saturday 5th June proved to be lucky for Mick Conroy, Glen MacDonald and Scotch Paul who shared out a massive total of £479 from Oddfellows Lottery Bingo.

11 people were waiting for only one number so no doubt the BBC viewing figures went up that night!

FOOTBALL AWARDS NIGHT
ODDFELLOWS FC
held their presentation evening on Saturday 12th June after a long and gruelling football season. The new season starts in August but for the 2003/04 season the Roll of Honour was as follows: -

Top Goal Scorer – Graham “Mad Dog” Duffy

Young Player of the Year – Stu “Frank” Spencer

Player’s Player of the Year– Steven “Samba” Murray

Manager’s Awards – Martin “Roger” Ford & Stevie “Fat Boy Slim” Durkin

Well done to all of the above.
The new season will be upon us soon, so good luck to all the lads for next year. In the meantime anyone who fancies themselves as the next Alan Shearer should to talk to Newcastle United (they are on the look out for a replacement) but anyone else who fancies playing on a Sunday afternoon and training once a week should
get in touch.

Contact Mark on 01670 590541 or ask Graeme behind the bar.
And, of course, those of you who are perhaps a little less active can always come along and cheer us on,
on a Sunday afternoon, home games are played at Foxhunters.

A FLAVOUR OF INDIA
CONGRATULATIONS
go to the Flavour of India, Albion Road’s new Indian restaurant, which has received praise from all. Based in the old Peg’s Tea Rooms premises, just along the road from Oddfellows they offer a range of reasonably priced meals and boast a small unlicensed restaurant, meaning you can take in your own drinks. Ideal if you fancy a couple of drinks in Oddies before heading along with a bottle of wine (special take out price only £5.99). Menus are available in the pub.
